I would like to celebrate Eid and give our loyal readers a special Eidiya.
Last year I wrote an article that tests a trend that has been happening in the Tadawul stock exchange for the last twelve years -“Markets to Rally Before the End of Ramadan”. It was based on a study done by Morgan Stanly that states that since 1998 the Tadawul stock exchange returns were a bit week in the 4 to 8 weeks before Ramadan. However, just before the end of Ramadan the market troughs and rally in the two months following that.
Looking at last year’s index chart, we can see that the market returned 13% for the last ten days of Ramadan and the following two months. Now that we have tested this theory and it proved to be correct, I would put my money in this time- and that’s our Eidiya to you

Great remark. Reminds me of the January Effect. However, now that more and more people are aware of this trend, I am a skeptical of its persistence in the future.
